SYC Sailors Sweep Yngling North Americans

Ruth Hough led a Sakonnet podium sweep at the Yngling North Americans held at SYC August 20-23.  Winds ranged from 5 to 15 knots with large waves due to hurricane Bill.  Racing was very close for the top 3 boats. Any one of the top three could have won the regatta going into the last race. 5 of top ten places went to Sakonnet teams. 

Ruth was also the impressario for the event, which saw eighteen boats compete.  The racing and social events around the North Americans came off without a hitch, despite Bill's best (and rather paltry) efforts.

Next year's event is scheduled for Alpena, MI.
